Joju is a seasoned development studio based in Berkeley, California.  We specialize in making high-quality games, applications and digital experiences.  

For more than 10 years, we take pride in crafting great work, both for our clients and for ourselves.  Our collective goal is to define and expand the best in game development.  We aim to be the industry standard for the social casino, casual puzzle and arcade spaces on mobile and desktop.

Juan Gril

President & Studio Head

Juan founded Joju Games over 10 years ago, a game studio specializing in high-quality games.

Juan is an integral part of the booming Casual Game and Social Casino industries. He is an Advisor for the Smartphone Game Summit at the Games Developers Conference, a judge for the "Sense of Wonder Night" Game Festival at Tokyo Game Show, and one of the Chairs at the Indiecade Festival, where he where he shares knowledge and ideas with up-and-coming game makers.

The former head of Yahoo! Games Studios and a founding member of the team, Juan holds a BFA in Electronic Media from University of Illinois at Chicago.

Kristoffer Ancona

Kristoffer Ancona

Production Director

Kristoffer has over 10 years managing the entire development of the title from concept to completion, working with internal and remote development teams and development support groups to provide and maintain the creative vision of the product. Kristoffer works collaboratively with Joju’s marketing, sales and other product development groups to ensure quality delivery and maintenance of our games.

Before Joju, Kristoffer worked at Gameloft for 5 years in different Project Management roles. Kristoffer holds a Bachelor’s of Science Electronic Engineering Technology & Telecommunications from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California.

Fernando Carpena

Fernando Carpena

Art Director

Fernando has been creating art for games for over 20 years. During the past 5 years at Joju, Fernando has overseen and led the development of a unique visual style for all our games.

Kelly Divine

Kelly Divine

Creative Director

With a deep background in creative arts, Kelly was a commercial photographer and special effects artist. For four years now, she loves working with the Art Director and Producers to craft the themes and look of many projects at Joju, particularly slot machines.

A former dancer and aerialist, she has taught aerial dance and trapeze.

Kelly holds a BA in Women’s Studies from the University of California at Berkeley, and studied Fabric and Surface Pattern Design.

Ross Avner

Ross Avner

VP of Business Development

Ross has been at the forefront of bringing digital games to the masses in both early stage start-ups and public companies where he consistently delivered products, strategy development, and business results.

As the former Head of Yahoo! Games, Ross Avner has extensive background in digital media and has interfaced with many game companies including, King, EA, Zynga, Activision, Microsoft Games Studios, and Ubisoft.

Ross started his career as a journalist at CNN as part of CNN. Following that experience, Ross joined the startup which cloud gaming. Ross holds a Bachelors of Science from North Carolina State University.
